Artisan I Sdn Bhd comprises leading communications professionals who worked in big agencies such as Ogilvy & Mather, Naga DDB, Leo Burnett, Saatchi & Saatchi, M&C Saatchi, Bates and DraftFCB. These professionals were handling big clients such as CIMB Bank, Kraft, UEMLand, Petronas, Tourism Malaysia and Telekom.

With the belief that it’s not the agency that makes the people but the people that make the agency, they left the big agencies and formed Artisan I in 2010. Their aim – to be the boutique agency that provides the big thinking on par with big agencies, while still being affordable.

What pushes Artisan ahead is its ‘can do’ spirit – what can be done, shall be done. Since its inception, Artisan has been expanding its network to cover a wide range of services such as branding, brand communications and advertising, digital and social media marketing, packaging design and public relations.

Two words – effective experience. The founders are not just people with vast experience, but those who were hands-on for every project and brand they worked on, spanning more than 20 years.

Jam J AriffinExecutive Creative Director

From his early days in Naga DDB, he was known for his passion for communications and branding. Handling blue-chip accounts such as DiGi Telecommunications, United Overseas Bank and Panasonic, he showed his mettle and won metals at D&AD, Cannes, Spikes Asia, AdFest and Kancils by creating creative and effective award-winning work for his clients.

At the 2009 EFFIE Awards, Malaysia’s premier award show for marketing effectiveness, his work won both the Gold Award (for CIMB Bank) and Silver Award (for Maxis). Later in the same year, his stellar work for TM’s EveryoneConnects.Net captured the public’s imagination and created waves in the advertising industry.

So what’s next? He wants to put this passion for effective creativity behind your brand.

Kay AhmadGeneral Manager

Renowned in the industry as a go-getter producer, she climbed fast and took only 5 years to get from an AV Producer to Head of AV.

She’s known to be meticulous, methodical and financially-savvy when it comes to production. Always striving to give value for money while not stifling creativity for the communication.

With 20 years’ experience behind her, Kay has worked with multinationals such as Asia Pacific Breweries (Tiger Beer) and Procter & Gamble, both of which at regional level, as well as Tourism Malaysia, DiGi, British American Tobacco, Panasonic, Perodua, UEM Land, Kraft, UOB, Kotra Pharma, Southern Lion and Unza, to name a few. Now she aims to take Artisan i and its clients forward, just as fast as she did with her career.

Our Factory

In an ideal world this text wouldn’t exist, a client would acknowledge the importance of having web copy before the design starts. Needless to say it’s very important, content is king and people are beginning to understand that. However, back over in reality some project schedules and budgets don’t allow for web copy to be written before the design phase, this is sad but true. We’re here to help, we’ve written examples of web copy for over 40 industries for you to use at concept phase of your projects to bring a little life and realism to your designs and help you think about who and what you are designing for.
